![]() Used prices I still think it’s a good watch (like, 50% or more off retail).but I wish they’d stop cutting those last few little corners. I like it a lot however, I am waffling between this and a hydroconquest as my next watch. “Calibre 5” being a plain elabore grade 2824-2 (in a watch that retails for $2500 c’mon - at least go top grade if you’re going to tout the “Calibre 5” on the dial) -Īnd knowing that they use plastic movement spacers inside the case. I think it is a little much for a 17 year old to wear, personally. and with the discount the AD was willing to give on Tag I could have walked out with it almost 30% under MSRP.īuuut.as usual Tag cuts a few corners - and while it wouldn’t be noticeable, it irks me enough to dismiss it yet again. ![]() That Aquaracer I linked checks a lot of boxes - engraved ceramic bezel, fairly nice case if nothing special, decent bracelet, felt very solid in hand. ![]() I always want to give them the benefit of the doubt (to their credit the recent Autavia is a winner) but there’s always some deal breakers (aside from the plummeting resale values). I was actually there to see other brands while deciding on a recent purchase but quickly looked at this Aquaracer out of curiosity. I was recently at an AD that carried Tag. ![]() It is one of the cheapest clasps I've ever handled. The bracelet tapers a bit to much for my liking but the worst thing about it is the clasp. Would've been fixed if they put the insert in such a way that the lips align with 10-20-30-40-50-60. Because the raised lips( that help with gripping ) are positioned at 5-15-25-35-45-55, it makes unscrewing the crown more difficult(with the bezel aligned correctly) as you can't get a proper grip, so I have to turn the bezel in order to unscrew it properly. The bezel action/clicks sound and feel cheap.Īlso the design on the bezel is dumb. The finishing on a sumo or an orient star is better for less money. The finishing is plain, polished sides ( which in my opinion is a bad idea on a diving watch) and brushed top lugs. I'd feel more comfortable if they went for 650 - 700 usd used or thereabouts. In all honesty I feel even 870 used is a bit much for a used one. While I love the dial ( colour, texture, crispness of printing and markers) overall I don't feel that the prices they commanded new are justified. It was in good used condition and came with boxes and papers. Bought it for the equivalent of about 870 USD. I've owned the WAN2111 for about 3 months now.
